Michelle & Kelsi - putting out their butts!

Originally uploaded by Chuck Bowden

These two girls will stop at nothing for a good laugh. So, just as you see here, they are following what the sign is telling them to do. This photo was taken at Guntown Mountain while on vacation in Cave City, Kentucky.

Warning Sign!

Originally uploaded by Chuck Bowden

My family and I left Thursday morning for a 5 hour car ride to Cave City, Kentucky. Our first plan of business once arriving at Mammoth Cave National Park was to buy tickets for the River Boat Ride (not a gambling boat). Once there, we found out that the captain of the River Boat had passed away last fall and the River Boat ride no longer existed. Seems the Captain owned the River Boat and the Park was too poor to buy it from him to continue providing the ride!

So, we had to put plan B into effect. Go ride the ski lift to the top of the mountain so we could ride the sled down to the bottom! On the way up the mountain, I noticed the sign above and snapped a picture. Being that high up off the ground, I don't think you'd have to worry about me trying to swing or bounce in the swing... cause I'm afraid of heights!

Todd... the cat

Originally uploaded by Chuck Bowden

Todd is my new cat. Well... I've had him for almost a month now, but I'm still amazed at all the new things he gets himself into!

Kyndall, my 8 year old daughter, left her pom poms out on the couch one evening. Todd must love (or hate) the color gold because he absolutely went berzerk. He took a running jump and slid up under them and then just laid there... poking his head out to have a look around.

I don't know if he thought he was camouflaging himself or what. He stayed in that position long enough for me to grab my camera and snap this picture.

Hiking the Trails at New Castle Park

Originally uploaded by Chuck Bowden

The family decided to take a trip to New Castle Park today and I thought I had found the perfect opportunity to take some good photographs. However, it was around noon time... when the sun is high in the sky. Very hard to take pictures during that time of day cause there's always a shadow!

I tried taking photos from different angles and with different cameras. It seems the pictures taken with my 4MP Kodak DX6490 camera came out way better than those taken with my 8MP Panasonic DMC-FZ30. The photo above is 1 of 3 out of 30 pictures taken that actually came out decent.

Summer Heat Hot Air Balloon Festival - June 2007

Originally uploaded by Chuck Bowden

On Saturday, June 16th, 2007, I had the opportunity to attend the Summer Heat Hot Air Balloon Festival. This year it was held at the Academy for Model Aeronautics on the Southside of Muncie, Indiana.

I must say that I didn't enjoy it as much this year as in previous years, when it was held at the Delaware County Airport, for the fact that they didn't have an Air Show this year.

The Balloon Illume was not in Sync this year as in previous years. I kept waiting for all the balloons to illume at the same time, but it never happened. This is the closest it got!

Photography Overtakes Blogging as New Hobby!

I apologize for the lack of communication these last 2 weeks, but I have gotten myself involved in a new hobby... and have been working a lot. My new passion with photography has kept me pretty busy, not to mention I've worked the last 8 nights straight.

If you've never heard of Flickr.com, you have to make a visit. There you can view all the photos that I've been working on. Some I took last year and just got around to finding them this last week or so, however you can see the new ones that I have taken. Since I live in Muncie, and travel to Anderson to work, I pass a lot of neat things. One of the things I've really been working on is taking night photographs. I just realized lastnight that my camera is equipped to take pictures at night... how cool!

Anyway, I'm going to try and do a better job of doing both. Heck, I might even combine the two to create a photoblog! Who Knows?
